HIFU Skin Treatment Aftercare Tips

HIFU skin treatment is a safe treatment with no downtime, which means you can usually return to your daily routine straight away. However, you may experience some minor effects around the targeted area. This includes warmth, redness, tenderness and a tingling sensation. Most of these effects will disappear within hours and in very rare cases weeks, but you can limit the risk of issues or complications by following some basic aftercare tips. This includes drinking water, avoiding strenuous activities, and applying sunscreen.

Look After Yourself

You should always look after yourself in the days after a HIFU procedure. This means drinking plenty of water to stay well hydrated. If you are experiencing any mild side effects post treatment, you may also consider avoiding strenuous exercise, hot showers and baths and steam rooms for at least 24 hours. In addition, you should stay out of the sun as much as possible to avoid hyperpigmentation.

Apply Certain Products

It’s highly recommended that you apply SPF 30 sunscreen on a daily basis for several days following HIFU skin treatment, especially if you’re planning to go out into the sun. This provides a layer of protection for your skin from UV rays and other potentially damaging elements.

You should avoid applying skin care products that contain active ingredients such as Vitamin A and Vitamin C for 3 to 5 days after the treatment.
