HIFU Anti-Ageing Treatment in Melbourne

HIFU treatment, also known as High Intensity Focused Ultrasound, is a skin tightening and rejuvenating treatment that’s capable of treating loose skin on the face and body. By stimulating the body’s natural production of collagen and regenerating tissue, this treatment has a tightening and lifting effect that effectively addresses concerns relating to ageing skin. If you’re interested in HIFU for forehead wrinkles, sagging skin or any other signs of ageing, enquire with The Greville Clinic to arrange a consultation. We use the latest HIFU technology to provide our clients with effective HIFU anti-ageing treatments.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What Causes Signs of Ageing?

The most common signs of ageing include wrinkles, fine lines and sagging skin, and they’re most commonly caused by reduced collagen and elastin production as a result of the natural ageing process. A common effect of this is skin that’s less elastic, leading to the development of lines and wrinkles when smiling, frowning or making other expressions.

Ageing of the skin can also have other contributing factors, such as smoking (speeds up the ageing process and causes lines around the mouth), sun exposure (damages the skin and causes lines and wrinkles to form) and repetitive facial expressions (such as frowning or squinting).

How Does HIFU Anti-Ageing Treatment Work?

Ageing skin often causes sagging due to lower levels of collagen and elastin in the skin. The aim of HIFU anti-ageing treatments is to target areas of sagging and loose skin in order to boost the production of collagen. High frequency ultrasound waves are sent beneath the skin to the muscle layer, causing localised heat that makes the muscles and tissues contract. This stimulates collagen production, helping to firm and tighten the skin in the affected area while reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. HIFU penetrates at a deeper level compared to laser  treatments, making it a more effective anti-ageing alternative.

How Many Treatments Are Required?

Whilst some immediate reduction in the signs of aging can be see immediately after the Hifu treatment, results will continue to improve over the next 4- 12 weeks.

In your initial consultation, we will assess your skin and advise you of how many sessions may be required to achieve your desired results.

Does HIFU Treatment Hurt?

HIFU treatment is well tolerated by most clients. “Your nurse or dermal therapist can adjust settings based on your comfort level during the treatment”

Sessions usually take between 30 to 60 minutes depending on the size of the area being treated.

Following your treatment, you may experience some mild redness on the treated area, or  this will not require any downtime. You can go about your day-to-day activities afterwards as usual.
