HIFU

What is HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound)

HIFU stands for High Intensity Focused Ultrasound used to for tissue regeneration and collagen production, to promote tightening and lifting of loose skin of the face and body. We utilise the latest 4D HIFU technology to deliver heat energy beneath the surface of the skin and to the muscle layer.

Prior to your treatment, you will have a consultation with one of our nurses to discuss your main concerns so that they are able to achieve your desired outcome. You will achieve results from just one HIFU treatment. Depending on skin laxity, jawline boarder and lines and wrinkles, follow up treatments may be required to enhance your results. This will be assessed by our nurses during your consultation.

The treatment is relatively comfortable, and our nurses will adjust the settings based on your level of comfort. The length of time for your treatment will be anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 and a half hours, depending on the area.

Besides some mild redness, there is no downtime for the treatment, meaning you can resume your day as normal.

If you have any further concerns or wish to clarify if this treatment is suitable for you, please contact us or book in your complimentary consultation with one of our medically trained nurses.

How does HIFU work?

Ultrasound technology has been used for cancer treatments and diagnostic procedures all over the world. The cosmetic benefits of HIFU were discovered more recently in a clinical experiment, where it was found to be able to reach dermal layers that lasers cannot.

The treatment sends focused high frequency tissue vibration to the muscle layer and the deep layers of the skin.

With new 4D technology, we also target hard to reach areas including around the mouth and eyes. Our technology allows us to deliver 11 lines of energy, as opposed to older devices which can only achieve one.

This vibration leads to localized heat of 65 degrees, where contraction of muscle and surrounding tissues occurs. This stimulates the regeneration of collagen in the area, tightening the skin and removing lines and wrinkles.

HIFU also causes disruption and ablation of the fat tissues under the skin, making it great for reducing fat in areas such as the abdomen.
