Stretch marks often appear as long, thin and slightly depressed streaks on the skin. They can vary in colour from pink, red, purple or brown to a lighter, silvery-white shade, depending on the stage of development and the natural skin tone.
They can occur anywhere on the body, but commonly appear on areas where the skin is subjected to rapid stretching, such as the abdomen, breasts, thighs, buttocks, hips and upper arms.
Stretch marks can vary in size, ranging from a few millimetres to several centimetres long, and can be straight or have a wavy pattern.
