What Are the Causes of Hyperhidrosis?
Hyperhidrosis can be caused by genetic (primary) or medical (secondary) factors. Primary hyperhidrosis is a rare condition that usually starts in childhood. The exact cause is still unknown, but a family history of the disease increases the risk. Secondary hyperhidrosis is caused by underlying medical conditions such as hyperthyroidism, menopause and obesity. Anxiety and uncomfortable social situations can worsen symptoms and make living with excess sweating distressing for many people.

Our approach to managing hyperhidrosis involves treatment just below the skin’s surface. This treatment works by temporarily interrupting the chemical signals that trigger the sweat glands, significantly reducing perspiration in the treated area.
Results aren’t always noticeable immediately; we allow for up to 14 days for treatment to take full effect before results become apparent.
Your nurse will advise you of any applicable downtime in your initial consultation before any treatment.
Results of can last anywhere between 6 to 12 months, although as every individual is different, this can vary.
